In the first quarter of 2020 JSC “Dneprotyazhmash” supplied various types of equipment for Tulachermet, one of the leading metallurgical companies in Russia, being part of Industrial Metallurgical Holding (IMH).
Thus, under the contract signed in December 2019 for supplies of critical spares within the project of modernization of Blast Furnace No. 3, our company supplied the following equipment:
109 of cooling staves with a total weight of 376 tons;
Shut-off Valve spares comprising base seat, lower and upper cones;
Throttle Unit.
Within the same timeframe JSC “Dneprotyazhmash” produced and dispatched for Tulachermet bell-type charging unit D5400 and checker supporting grid.
Being supplier of various kinds of equipment for metallurgy and having our own design and technological department, we are constantly modernizing our equipment. Thus, despite strict time limits, we introduced updates in the Throttle Unit for Tulachermet. Mainly the body structure was reassessed in order to increase its leak-tightness, however, lubrication system was also modernized so that to ensure independent lubricant feeding of bearings and stuffing box seals.
Tulachermet set very strict terms for the production of critical equipment within the project of modernization of Blast Furnace No. 3 that had become even stricter firstly with holidays associated with New Year and Christmas, and then with quarantine measures all over the world. Taking into consideration all these obstacles and being committed for successful performance of the project, JSC “Dneprotyazhmash” introduced a WhatsApp-based information system.
This system allowed all associated experts and departments, both from Dneprotyazhmash and Tulachermet, having production-related discussions and live monitoring of the manufacturing process. It also enabled Customer to have live coverage of products readiness status so that to plan its internal works associated with the BF3 modernization. Acceptance of products was also made through live text, photo, and video footage of the equipment tests. All these measures allowed us successfully complete the project within the shortest terms.
