DTS is Supplier for Northern Line Extension Project

Updated: Apr 26, 2019

DTS is delighted to announce that it was awarded a contract on the spheroidal graphite iron (SGI) lining rings 6.5 m and 9.5 m in diameter for London Underground by Ferrovial Agroman, a Ferrovial subsidiary, and UK construction company Laing O’Rourke. The lining rings will be used within the Northern Line extension project.

On June, 2016, representatives of Ferrovial Agroman, London Underground and OTB Engineering visited PJSC “Dneprotyazhmash”, a DTS Group production enterprise, in order to inspect manufacturing processes and to take part in acceptance of the first 4 trial lining ring assemblies made under the Contract. The Parties successfully commissioned fit-up assembly prototype SGI lining rings and expressed satisfaction with the Contract performance progress.

It is intended to utilize DTS Group-made SGI lining rings at 3 locations within the Northern Line extension project: Kennington Step Plate Junction North and Southbound tunnels, Kennington Station additional Cross Passages, and Running Tunnel rings at Cross Passages. The whole Northern Line extension project, which is worth a total of 500 million pounds (around 628 million euro), is expected to be completed by 2020.
